What will I learn?:
As a cheerleader with the Conway Falcons, you will
focus on all aspects of cheering:
- Basic
cheers (more complex the higher division you are in)
- Sideline
chants
- Jumps
- Arm
positions and movements
- Stunting
skills such as load in, Halves, Extensions, cradle, quick load, split down, step up, full down, retakes, bump down, leap frog,
and more!!!!
(FHSAA-Florida High School Athletic Association rules and regulations will be enforced)
Our coaching staff* has years of training and experience and they are ready to
teach you what they know. In addition, we are pleased to partner with Boone High School and offer "student/cheerleader
assistants" for each squad.
*See the Coaching Staff tab for more information on our coaching staff.
By the end
of the season, you will learn everything there is to know about the sport of cheerleading (and do so in a fun and educational
environment).
Where will games be played?:
Our "Home" field is Boone High School. You can expect to have
3-4 games played there. "Away" games will be played at local high school stadiums.
What will the season look like?:
Practices will begin in August 2011 and will be held 2 days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays (as determined by your
coach). All practices are held at Conway Middle School. Games are held each Saturday. Championship games November
through first part of December for qualifying teams.) Competition dates TBD.
What is competition?:
At the end of each season, our girls are given
the opportunity to compete against other AAU cheer squads in the area. While the name of this event is Cheer
"Competition", and we practice to win, we also attend to have fun, see other cheer squads and their techniques, and make memories
that will last a lifetime. More information will come out during the season about this optional activity.
